Student Leadership

Student leadership at Stantonbury Secondary School is an essential aspect of the school's ethos, emphasising the development of responsibility, Respect, and Resilience among our students.

Through various leadership roles, students are encouraged to take ownership of their school community and contribute to decision-making processes happening at our school. These roles can include Year Reps or Vice Reps and being a member of all the different councils or committees going on around the school, all of whom work together to ensure that student voices are heardand that the school environment is inclusive and supportive.

The student leadership program at Stantonbury aims to empower students by giving them the opportunity to lead projects, organise events, and provide guidance to their peers. Leaders are encouraged to act as role models, demonstrating qualities such as respect, integrity, and teamwork.

Through these experiences, students develop crucial life skills, including communication, problem-solving, and time management, which are valuable both in their academic journey and future endeavours.

Moreover, Stantonbury Secondary School’s approach to student leadership fosters a strong sense of community and belonging. The school recognises that students, by working together and assuming leadership roles, can drive change and create a positive school culture. This collaborative approach not only enhances the student experience but also instill a sense of pride and ownership in the school's achievements, helping to create a vibrant and engaged student body.
