Our penultimate AIB meeting for the school year had a focus on teaching and learning, attendance and punctuality and the 6th Form provision. Gareth Massey, Assistant Principal, reported on the latest data for attendance and punctuality and we probed the plans to improve attendance, including those students who have persistently low attendance. Paul Yarnell, Head of 6th Form, updated us on the impact of the work to further improve the 6th form provision at Stantonbury including presenting progress and attendance data, and outlined the next steps for the 2022/23 academic year. Rebecca Gowers, Assistant Principal, presented the latest outcomes from teaching and learning assessments, and we asked questions in relation to the strategy to further embed classroom routines, including consistent behaviour management. In addition to these themes, we recommended the budget for approval to Tove Trustees, reviewed the progress against the strategic plan and approved the Online Safety (including acceptable use of IT and mobile phones) policy. We also considered our standing agenda items of safeguarding, communications, the Principal’s report and the strategic risk register.
