AIB 6th May 2022 meeting

At our May meeting the AIB focussed on raising standards, the whole school careers programme, pupil premium funding, pupils with a special educational need and/or disability (SEND), strategic planning and finance. Nicola Yates, Assistant Principal, presented the most up to date progress data for year 11, and we scrutinised the data across different groups of students and discussed how the data is being used to drive school improvement. Amy Theed, Assistant Principal, and Karen Malone, Careers Advisor, reported on the progress against the Gatsby Benchmarks (the framework for improvement in careers provision), and we discussed the strength of provision in this area and further plans and ambition for Careers education at Stantonbury.  Aaron Davies, Assistant Principal, updated us on the impact of pupil premium spending and further progress towards the SEND action plan, as well as the next steps for making further improvement.  Ben Wilson, Associate Principal, presented the latest progress on the strategic plan and outlined the budget figures for this year and future years.  Finally, we approved the early careers teacher policy and careers policy, discussed safeguarding, the Principal’s report, communications and the strategic risk register. I look forward to updating you again in June after our next AIB meeting.

Best wishes, Sally LaBrooy, Chair of Stantonbury School AIB
